Steve Harvey Shares Why He Gave A ‘Family Feud’ Contestant 25,000 Dollars From His Own Pocket

That’s not to say he hasn’t been completely charmed by those visiting his studio from time to time, like when one lucky lady got to spend her 100th birthday flirting with the mustachioed comedian. That, or their impression was ridiculously over the top that there is no way he could ever forget them, such as country star Kellie Pickler’s hilarious Family Feud freak-out.

In a more subdued moment between tapings of his daytime talk show, however, Steve recalls one of the most unforgettable moments of his career.

He explains that the man, a contestant on Family Feud, first caught his attention due to his excitement and energy causing him to sweat so profusely that they had to stop filming so he could change into a fresh shirt.

The team captain and his family weren’t having much luck until the very last moment over their three-day stint when they managed to win $20,000. The man was so ecstatic that he fell to the ground and burst into tears.

When they cut to commercial, Steve had to ask why he had such an extreme reaction. That’s when he heard just how much they needed the money — and decided to add some of his own funds on top.
