When Mom And Dad Are Tragically Killed, 8th Grader Writes A Letter To Younger Siblings

It is every kid’s worst nightmare. Sarah Perry’s mom and dad were killed in a tragic plane crash with four others. The small plane was traveling to Oxford, MS, but crashed in Tuscaloosa County, AL. There were no survivors.

The cause for the crash remains to be unknown, but according to the New York Daily News, a spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety Board says the investigation is ongoing.

In the midst of this tragedy, there is a light. Sarah, who is only in eighth grade, is that light. Her incredible spirit, resilience, and compassion went viral when she penned a letter to family, siblings, and community.

During times of chaos is when we see the greatest acts of selflessness and kindness. Sarah, though she admits her heart is truly broken, has chosen to see the goodness, the light in the darkness. I believe anyone who reads her touching letter will learn that if this young child can remain so strong in such a bleak time, we can achieve anything, too.
