This K9’s Officer Was Killed On Duty. But Watch The Dog At The Casket. Oh My.

Losing a pet is hard. You and your pet have may have grown-up together, bonded with each other. But what happens when the owner dies and the pet is left behind? That’s not something we usually think about. Officer Jason Ellis, a K9 officer in Bardstown, KY, was shot and killed on his way home from work. The funeral procession passed officers who saluted as the casket draped in an American Flag moved toward the cemetery.

Some officers had their canine partners at their sides. Ellis’ K9 partner, Figo, was at the funeral too. Before family and friends gave their final goodbyes, Officer Ellis’ final call was given – that moment – hearing the final call is heartbreaking. Officer Ellis left behind a wife and two children – and Figo.

Figo was allowed to say his goodbye, after placing his paw on Ellis’ casket, he turned and walked away with his head down. Rest in peace, Officer Ellis, you will be missed. Share away, people.
