Police At A Restaurant Get Mocked By Employees. Then They Realize What They Did To Their Food

Two policemen were mocked by the staff of a fast food establishment in Shelby, North Carolina. The unidentified Cleveland County deputies were then served hot sauce without their permission.

On July 10, the two officers stopped for lunch at Zaxby’s restaurant. Both officers were in uniform and were taunted by the staff according to the wife of one of the deputies.

“As they walked up to place their orders, the boys in the back cooking the food started yelling at them and calling them names,” she wrote on social media.

According to the officer’s wife, the deputies ordered, despite the insults, but when they went to eat their food, they noticed something was wrong.

” … [M]y husband realized [they] had put the hottest sauce possible on [his] wings – to the point where his food wasn’t even fit to eat,” she said.

Apparently, the sauce was so hot that you could feel it burning just by touching it.

“Years ago, this profession was respected, it was honored. Now to get ridiculed, to be a target, to possibly get shot at, for little pay … what’s the motivation to be a police officer other than do it because your heart’s in it to help the community?” said Cleveland County Police Captain Joel Shores.

Zaxby’s has said they are looking into the incident.

“It is our goal to always provide every guest with exceptional service,” said a spokesman in an official statement.

The owner of the restaurant said he’s been monitoring his staff constantly since the officers’ experience.

Some local residents are now boycotting the fast food restaurant. Some are also calling for the firing of employees.

“If it did happen, then the employees need to be fired on the spot,” said one local resident.

It is unclear at this time if the employees involved in the incident have yet experienced any disciplinary action.
