Neighbor Leaves A Note Complaining About His Lawn, Then Dad Puts Up A Sign As Revenge

Carl Davignon of Springfield, MA, received a handwritten note from his neighbor. The anonymous note was written in an aggressive tone and demanded Davignon clean up his messy leaves.

The neighbor claimed that the leaves from his yard were blowing onto theirs and they demanded he clean it up. Davignon responded by answering the message back the best way he could. After all, the neighbor chose to be anonymous.

The massive yard sign read: “Thank you for being concerned about our leaves, thus far no mandatory date has been set for removal. After Thanksgiving, even then, implementing not set. Until then, enjoy the foliage.”

Citizens aren’t required to remove their leaves until after Thanksgiving so Davignon is far from breaking the law. The homeowner has a tree with leaves that fall slowly so he is waiting until after that tree has fully shed to clean up his yard.

The Deputy Code Enforcement Director, David Cotter, says that Davignon will only be penalized if the lawn isn’t up to code after the due date, at that time he would be charged with a $50 fine.

As far as the neighbor’s complaint goes? Cotter believes it’s best if the city stay out of it since there is no illegal activity. Cotter also admitted to 22News that even he hasn’t cleaned up his leaves.

“What can I do? I mean they’re blowing everywhere, They’re blowing now; they’re all over the place,” Davignon said.

What do you think of Davignon’s response to his nosey neighbors? Whose side are you on?
