This mom-of-three orders pizza with a secret message. What the police then find in the house, is frightening.

In May 2015, Cheryl Treadway experienced a real life nightmare when her violent boyfriend, Nick, was angry, out of control, and carrying a knife. While under the influence of drugs, the 26-year-old was holding her and her three children hostage.

In the midst of the horror and confusion, Cheryl said her kids were getting hungry. She eventually talked the boyfriend into letting her use a cell phone to order a pizza. He agreed. She typed in her order on the Pizza Hut phone app, and seconds later, the boyfriend quickly snatched the phone out of her hand.

But before he did, the 25-year-old had managed to secretly write, “911 hostage help!” in the comments section of the order. And above her large pepperoni pizza and garlic bread order she wrote: “Please help. Get 911 to me.” Instead of ignoring the message, the employees at Pizza Hut followed their instincts and immediately recognized the seriousness of the situation. Without hesitating, they called the police and sent them to the address indicated on the order.

After the Highlands County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home, they found Cheryl and her three kids still being kept captive. They were finally able to escort Cheryl and her children to safety after talking to the boyfriend for 20 minutes through the screen door. No one was harmed, and the boyfriend was arrested.

Thanks to Cheryl’s quick thinking, the help from the Pizza Hut staff and the immediate response by authorities, there was a peaceful conclusion to this awful event. Cheryl’s plea for help following this domestic violence nightmare helped her to escape before something bad happened. What an incredible story!
