Florida Hospital Just Gave Jaw-Dropping Statement On Orlando Shooting. 12 Victims Left SPEECHLESS.

On June 12, 2016, a gunman opened fire at the Orlando nightclub Pulse which killed 49 people and wounded over 50. Amazingly, despite the absolute tragedy of this massacre, light shone through the darkness.

People were lining up to donate much-needed blood for the victims of the shooting. The community came together in other incredible ways as well.

Restaurants saw the need for food for the victims, families and first responders, so they delivered provisions and brought a little comfort in the midst of devastation. Some restaurants donated a portion of their profits to help victims and their families.

Another positive ray of light shone through the darkness thanks to Orlando Health and Florida Hospital. They have not billed the victims of the shooting for any medical expenses, and they are not planning to!

Orlando Health treated 44 victims and recently made a significant statement:

“Orlando Health has not sent any hospital or medical bills directly to Pulse patients and we don’t intend to pursue reimbursement of medical costs from them.

“We are exploring numerous options to help the victims of the Pulse nightclub tragedy address immediate and ongoing medical costs.

“These include state and federal funds, private insurance, victim funds like the One Orlando fund, disability insurance, Florida’s crime victim compensation program, funding sources established for individual victims, means-tested programs like Medicaid, as well as charity care provided by Orlando Health.

“Even with these multiple funding sources, Orlando Health’s total unreimbursed costs could exceed $5 million.”

Florida Hospital’s CEO, Daryl Tol, stated that the hospital treated 12 victims and that, “It was incredible to see how our community came together in the wake of the senseless Pulse shooting. We hope this gesture can add to the heart and goodwill that defines Orlando.”

The large medical bills with which victims and their families could have been left would have only piled onto the anxiety and fear that was brought on by the senseless attack. This news must bring great relief to many people who have already suffered enough.
