Deaf Student Finds Backpack Dumped In Filthy Toilet. Security Footage Reveals Heartbreaking Truth

A deaf high school student was a victim of bullying when he found all of his belongings in the toilet. Bullies still exist today and this story will break your heart when you hear what they did to this high school senior.

Alex Hernandez, senior at Burke High School, was the victim of this horrific act. His backpack was stolen by two students in the cafeteria, and they proceeded to take all his belongings and throw them in the toilet.

Analy Luevano, Alex’s 16-year-old sister, could not stay quiet when she found out what happened to her brother.

“So today at school my brother was bullied super hard at his high school. Most people might not know this but my brother is completely deaf and I couldn’t believe anyone would have the heart to do this to him!”

“It contained not only his tablet, debit card, and school supplies but it also contained homework and a project he worked really hard at,” Luevano continued, “It was later all found but this is what they did with his school supplies and homework.” Luevano posted a picture of his belongings all soaked and piled in the toilet.

Schools all over our country have been trying to educate children about bullying. October is “Stop Bullying” month in most of the schools but this did not stop these students from bullying. Hernandez said he wants to transfer to another school because this happened to him.

“Our goal is to ensure that the student whose backpack was stolen feels comfortable and supported at Burke High School,” Omaha Public School Superintendent said at the news release. “He is here with teachers, staff, and school community who love and support him, and we will continue to do so.”

The school believes that the students who took the backpack did not know that it was a deaf boy’s backpack. After further investigation they feel the “students targeted an unattended backpack versus an individual student.”

Hernandez’s mom said she feels there should still be consequences for their actions. “It is not fair that the bullies think they can continue with this behavior,” she said. “Today was my kid – tomorrow will be somebody else’s.”

But you will not believe what his peers did. They didn’t want him to leave school and wanted to do something to help, so they set up a GoFundMe page. They wanted to raise money to help him buy new belongings and a new cochlear implant to replace the one that was destroyed.

The donation goal was quickly raised with an overflow of funds. The students couldn’t believe the response.

“Due to the increase and high donations we decided to stop the fundraiser,” tweeted one of the students who helped set up the fundraiser “We raised enough money for the student to replace his school supplies!”

Hernandez told reporters that he has endured years of bullying because of his disability. He received cochlear implants when he was one year old so he has had this problem all his life.

“I wanted to thank all of my friends and those who wrote me for supporting me,” Hernandez said, “I am very happy. It made me feel like I am not alone.”

Although bullying still exists, kindness and love were the morals of this story. Hernandez now knows how much he is loved by his friends. I am sure from this day forward he will have many watching over him and standing up for him each and every day.

“Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good.” Psalm 37
