Same Day Mom Dies From Cancer, He Loses Dog In Car Crash. 6 Days Later, MIRACLE Occurs.

After an unimaginably horrific week, Nevada resident Joey Beltran is celebrating the return of his beloved dog, Nala. The two were separated during a treacherous rollover crash on Interstate 15 near Primm, Nevada, en route to say goodbye to Beltran’s mother who was dying of cancer.

It was last Wednesday that Beltran received the call that his mother, battling bone cancer, was not going to live much longer. He immediately jumped into his SUV with 11-month-old Nala and began the long journey, when disaster struck.

“My tire hit the asphalt of the street and basically my car slid and I jerked it back around and then my car flipped,” Beltran recalled. To his horror, the golden retriever jumped out the window and ran away into the desert, obviously scared.

Beltran remembered the agonizing moments that passed as he watched Nala run out of sight. “Six or seven cars pulled over to help me and I just kept yelling at them, I was like forget about me! Someone please go get my dog!”

Beltran searched for as long as he could before getting the call on Thursday morning that his mother had passed away. “She wasn’t supposed to go this fast,” a grief-stricken Beltran expressed. “I have a baby coming and all she wanted to do was meet her grandchild.”

Beltran’s community never gave up searching for Nala. Volunteers actively searched for the retriever, while Beltran recovered from the shock and trauma of the car accident and his mother’s death.

On Tuesday morning, nearly one week after her disappearance, Nala jumped into a woman’s car in a parking lot, who brought the pup to a veterinarian. Later that afternoon, Nala was joyfully reunited with Beltran and his pregnant girlfriend, Kelsey Petit, who received the call that Nala had been found.

“She just ran up to me and it was the best feeling ever,” Petit recalled of the reunion. Beltran was thankful for the desperately needed source of comfort during his dark time. “It wasn’t a family without Nala,” he said.

The couple is thankful for the community that has rallied around them during this season of sorrow.” Just random people that took the time to come out and help it means the world to me,” Beltran said.
