When Cop Got The Call, He Didn’t Know What He’d Find. Moments Later, He’s On Ground With Boy.

This heartwarming story is a shout out to all police officers who wear the badge proudly and show compassion to everyone in their communities. Hopefully, this officer’s simple act of kindness can go a long way in changing people’s negative perceptions about police.

Bubba is a 19-year-old young man from Tennessee who was diagnosed with autism when he was very young. He loves his family and working part-time at Sonic.

One of Bubba’s favorite pastimes is counting soda can tabs. His mom, Christy, has people from all over the country donate their tabs to Bubba so he can use them to fill up 50-gallon drums.

Despite keeping busy with soothing activities, there might be an occasional bad day where Bubba will have a meltdown. And it takes him a while to calm down.

Whenever this happens, Christy finds ways to ease his anxiety. But one day after trying different things with no success, she decided to try something different.

She’s always known how much Bubba loves police officers, so she called on the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office for help. Deputy Corey Loftis was the first one to arrive on the scene and he knew exactly what to do.

As soon as he was in the driveway he dropped to the ground and started doing push-ups. When Bubba saw what he was doing, he joined him on the ground and they started doing push-ups together!

Photos of the two men show them laughing and enjoying themselves as they release some steam with a little exercise. By the time Deputy Loftis left the residence, Bubba was all smiles.

Christy then shared the photo of their heartwarming interaction to the Bradley County Sheriff Deputy’s Facebook with the caption, “So tell me again how you think all cops are bad?.” The post started going viral almost instantly with thousands of people sharing their support for the officer.

Whether he’s catching the bad guys or helping a young man relieve his frustration with push-ups, we can see that Deputy Loftis truly loves helping everyone in his community.

People need to know that the majority of men and women behind the badge are passionate about making a positive difference in their neighborhoods.

This officer’s example of compassion is just one of many acts of kindness by police officers that go unseen each and every day!
