CAUGHT ON CAMERA: When Mom’s 3-Yr-Old Stops Breathing, Cop’s Quick Thinking Saves Him From Death

A 3-year-old boy was recently saved by a police officer in Granbury, Texas and the dramatic moment was captured on the officer’s dashboard camera.

Officer Chase Miller responded to a 911 call from a father whose 3-year-old boy, Brayden Geis, was not breathing. Minutes after the call, the camera showed Miller pulling into the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot where the family waited for him to arrive.
Miller got out of the vehicle and quickly went over to the mother who was holding her unresponsive little boy. He took little Brayden quickly from the mom’s arms and immediately started CPR.

The father assessed the officer during CPR and it took several minutes before the boy responded. “At that point he began to cough, and then he vomited,” Miller said, “And shortly after that he started to cry. When he started to cry, I knew we were golden, we were in the clear.”

Little Brayden had suffered a seizure and “his fever spiked too quickly,” his mom Bethany Hoover told reporters. The moment the child cried must have been the greatest sound the parents had ever heard.
Officer Miller said that “training always kicks in” when you are in situation like this. Brayden’s parents are so very grateful and could never thank him enough for saving their child.

“Our son is the world to us,” Hoover said. “That’s our world. That’s our life.”

“It was a blessing to be in the area, to be that close to be able to help,” Miller said. He was awarded the city’s Life Saving Award for his heroic effort. Brayden and his family were at the ceremony to celebrate Miller on this special day.

The police department said it was so neat that “Officer Chase” saved the boy’s life because Brayden’s favorite TV cartoon is Paw Patrol and his favorite character on the show is a guy named Chase!

At the ceremony, “Officer Chase Miller presented the boy with his version of ‘Chase’ to remember the moment by,” reported the Granbury Police Department. Miller and Brayden’s parents will never forget this moment and the cry of precious Brayden that day.

It is great to know that our great country has police officers ready and well-equipped to help us at any moment and in so many different situations. We should all take the time to thank a police officer today!
