Camera Catches The Intense Moment Lightning Strikes And Busts Patio As Family Unloads Their Car

Lightning can strike at any moment without regard for who or what might be in its path. It’s part of the reason that thunderstorms are so scary!

It just tears a path through the sky, lighting up the ground below and catching on anything that attracts it. While it can be beautiful, especially in slow motion, it’s a life-threatening force of nature.

We’ve all heard the little pieces of advice when it comes to staying safe and out of the way of any stray lightning bolts.

Avoid metal, get away from any trees, don’t sit near the window — I could name a ton, and you’ve probably heard them all.

But in truth, lightning can cut through most things. Just ask this mom who was struck by lightning that came right through her kitchen ceiling.

On the flip side, it’s said that the safest place to be when lightning strikes is in your car. The rubber of the wheels deflect the electricity and keeps you protected from the jolt.

But this family learned the hard way that proximity to a car isn’t enough to send lightning in the opposite direction.

This family of three was unloading their car when a camera caught the moment that a lightning bolt came hurdling toward them.
