Baby Has NO IDEA What Mom’s Been Up To During Nap Time. That’s When THESE Photos Surface Online.

Laura Izumikawa is a mother with a massive following on Instagram: 142,000 followers to be exact. However, she is definitely not your typical “mommy blogger.”

Not only does she have an adorable 4-month-old daughter named Joey Marie Choi, but she’s a seriously talented and creative photographer. What makes her Instagram photos unique is what she has her daughter wear in each photo.

She dresses her daughter in outfits you won’t typically find at a clothing store. Izumikawa possesses the amazing ability to capture a slice of pop culture and represent it through a photo of her napping baby wearing the cutest costumes.

The photo above is captioned, “Gotta catch some sleep that’s what. #pokemon”, which cleverly plays on the well-known Pokemon catch phrase and is in tune with Pokemon’s big comeback, thanks to the popular “Pokemon Go” game. I think we can agree that everything looks cuter when it’s that tiny, right?

This mother should earn a gold medal for the most creative way to spend your time during your baby’s nap. Every parent probably wonders how she keeps her daughter asleep during her big photo shoots and how does she have the energy to do this rather than catch a nap?

Izumikawa claims that her daughter is a deep sleeper, and as a new mother, she cannot help but stay awake to stare at her in awe. She decided to put her time to good use by creatively staging these photos as a modern baby book of sorts.

As her daughter grows older and is able to reflect on these photos, it will almost act as a timeline of what was culturally popular and important at that specific age. As you can see in the photo below, Izumikawa does get behind the camera as well to hold her daughter as she sleeps.
