This Waitress Knew These Firefighters Were Exhausted. What She Left For Them? -SOBS

On July 23, 2015, at 5 a.m., volunteer firefighters Paul Hullings and Tim Young entered 130 Diner in Delran, N.J. Liz Woodward, a waitress at the restaurant, was working the morning shift when the two firefighters came in asking for the biggest cup of coffee you have. That statement told Woodward that these two had already had a rough morning, and her assumption was correct. According to abcNEWS, many hours before Hullings and Young went to breakfast, Hullings had been helping fight a warehouse fire in New Jersey and was exhausted when he entered the restaurant. According to Young’s Facebook post shown on abcNews, Young had offered to take his friend to breakfast. Woodward, recognizing the men’s exhaustion and appreciative of their service, paid their tab. Instead of a bill, she handed them a heartfelt note: Your breakfast is on me today – thank you for all that you do; for serving others and running into the places everyone else runs away from.
