Teen Snaps Step-By-Step Photos Of Caterpillar’s Beautiful Transformation

It was a normal school day for a 16-year-old Tumblr user Oddity. Oddity was walking to class one morning when someone appeared on the sidewalk.

It was a chubby green caterpillar with eyespot markings that made him look like a cartoon character come to life. Oddity was afraid the little dude would get stepped on by a careless passerby and so he scooped him up and took him to class.

Along the way, the caterpillar was named after the first thing Oddity thought of: Chicken Nugget.

Now, everyone knows that as cute as caterpillars are, they don’t stay caterpillars for long. Instead, they turn into beautiful butterflies through a process called metamorphosis, during which their whole body liquifies and reforms, turning from wiggly caterpillars to fluttery butterflies that land on tiny children’s noses. Nature really is amazing.
