It was like a nightmare for Kayley Burke. Right before her eyes, she watched as chicken pox ravaged her infant son, Elijah’s tiny body with horrific scabs and oozing blisters. Because he is too young to be vaccinated, she begs other parents to heed her warning.

The images which show her baby boy’s body covered from head to toe in chicken pox is a warning for those parents who are against vaccinations. If your children aren’t up to date, they risk carrying diseases to other kids who may be too young for the proper medications.

Burke, who is a resident of Queensland, Australia, has issued a desperate plea to parents to please vaccinate their children. Her infant was hospitalized on Thursday after the chicken pox he had contracted worsened.

Elijah, who is just 11-months old, is shown in his mom’s photos. He has a disturbing amount of blisters all over his body and this image should be a warning to anyone who has ever been on the anti-vaccine train.

Because Elijah cannot be vaccinated because he is too young, the chicken pox blisters and scabs have led to a secondary infection that threatens the boy’s young life.

Since Burke shared the heart-wrenching photos to Facebook, the images have been shared across the network more than 5,000 times.

She captioned the horrific images with these words of warning to all parents of young children.

“Our poor baby boy who is too young to be immunized has caught the chicken pox,” the angered mom wrote. “Bottom line, if you don’t vaccinate your kids your [sic] a bloody idiot. Think about the risk you are putting on other helpless kids that are too young or who actually can’t be vaccinated.”

Elijah caught chicken pox more than a week ago. That’s when his symptoms first started to appear.

Besides Elijah, mom and his three-year-old sister, Kaliah, have also contracted the disease although Kaliah recently received her immunization.

“Since Kaliah hasn’t long been immunized she has a few spots and blisters but is well in herself,” she wrote.

Mom went on to describe the horrible reaction she has gotten from the contagious disease.

“Adult chicken pox is so horrible and painful I would much rather give birth with no pain relief. They have just given me some medication also to help with my symptoms.”

Burke was forced to rush her baby to the hospital once he stopped drinking. Since by that point her own chicken pox had traveled down her throat, she figured her baby was in too much pain to swallow.

As a mother, it was difficult for Kayley to watch the blister’s scar her baby’s skin – possibly for life.

“It’s horrible I can’t think of anything worse,” she said.

Many liberals believe that vaccinations are not good. Some conspiracy theorists even believe they are a means for the government to control the population.

But more down-to-earth parents are concerned for their children’s wellbeing.
