Nun Battling Cancer Dies While Smiling, Touching All Those Who Have Lost

Photos of a young Argentinian nun, Sister Cecilia Maria, have gone viral on the internet. Sister Cecilia Maria stayed strong and calm in her last days of battling with cancer. The viral photos were shared by thousands, everyone left a heartfelt prayer for the sister.

According to Catholic News Agency, Sister Maria lived in Saints Teresa and Joseph Monastery in Santa Fe, Argentina. On June 22, Sister Maria passed away at the age of 43.

In 2003, she was diagnosed with cancer of the tongue and the disease metastasized into her lungs six months earlier.

While Sister Maria was still alive, she had a vision of her own funeral.

“First, some intense prayer and then a great celebration for everyone. Don’t forget to pray but don’t forget to celebrate either!” Sister Maria said.
