A The Voice Contestant Just Melted A Thousand Hearts With This Romantic Country Song
One contestant on NBCs The Voice had the ladies in the audience eating out of the palm of his hands, as he delivered the most romantic performance of the night.
23-year-old Aaron Gibson of Kennesaw, Georgia crooned Thomas Rhetts Die A Happy Man a song that was penned specifically for the country stars wife, Lauren. However, Aaron made it all his own.
As you can see in this video, Aaron stands alone, as just a man and his guitar. He flaunts his rich and gritty voice, which proved that no other contestant could match his sound. Aarons performance was all part of the last edition of the shows knockout rounds. So, it was no surprise that he had to compete against another contestant.
He went up against indie-rocker, Josh Halverson. Josh also opted to sing a song from the country music catalog. He followed up Aarons performance with Whiskey and You a breakup ballad co-penned by Chris Stapleton and sung by The Voice adviser Tim McGraw.
Adam Levine, who was first to comment on each performance, said, Aaron, you look one way, and you sound another. It always shocks the crap out of me, and Josh, you really created a genuine folk moment. Thats a hard place to be brought to.
Blake Shelton added that Aaron sounded edgy and hard, while Josh was possibly the most chill human being ever.
This is a crazy tough choice for Miley, exclaimed Alicia Keys.
Indeed it was. Although Joshs soulful Whiskey and You was a showstopper, it was Aarons passionate Die A Happy Man that stole Mileys heart.
Im not ready to let him go yet, she said following her decision. I want him to know how much I believe in him.
Watch the video above to see Josh slay Die A Happy Man, and be sure to keep up with The Voice on Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC. Aaron will continue his journey during the shows live episodes, which start on Nov. 7.
